DO SOMETHING Friday: Rebuild Grandma’s House

February 4, 2011

Hello Readers, all 45 of you!

This afternoon I have great news! Today is the start of a new series!

I’m calling it “DO SOMETHING Friday” because it’s an opportunity for me to share with you all the ways you can impact your community and your world!

A couple of weeks ago I started to think about the influence that the blogs I read have on my life. While the influence mainly comes in areas like fashion and design, a few them are very encouraging spiritually.  Because of this I started asking myself, why can’t I do the same? Why can’t I use my blog to encourage others to serve others the way Christ did?Why can’t I positively impact my blogging community to reach out an make changes in our world?

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27

Today I’d like to encourage you to rebuild Grandma’s House. Who is Grandma, you ask? Grandma is a woman in Jamaica who desperately needs our help, for years Grandma has taken in needy children off the streets in Jamaica.

Above is Grandma’s House, the reason it appears to be sinking is because it’s actually falling off the side of the cliff. 2 All Nations is a missions organization that is sending a team to rebuild Grandma’s House this spring. The cost to rebuild Grandma’s House is 8,000 dollars. A portion of this money has already been raised, but more is still needed to complete the rebuild.

How can you rebuild Grandma’s House? Glad you asked! The easiest way is to give. At this time all gifts given to 2 All Nations will go to rebuild Grandma’s house.
